COLLIE
Now that the weather has cooled down water releases from Wellington Dam are dropping off. This weekend it is estimated to be 0.65m on Saturday and maybe higher on Sunday as per usual, but not more than 0.9 m.

A Busselton phys ed teacher has set up a weekend/holiday business hiring out sit-on-tops and guiding paddlers in that scenic, sheltered stretch of coastline between Dunsborough & Eagle Bay. He has a website http://www.capekayaks.com.au

GARAGE SALE

ROTTO SWIM
Peter Fitzgerald, aka, Fitzy, SWCC, had some fun on his trip over to Rotto with the swimmers a week or two back. He's written a short account which you will find by clicking on Paddlers' Yarns at the bottom of my front page.

COLLIE WATER LEVEL
Saturday's water release is too low for most paddlers, around 0.7m. Sunday's is more but still low, less than a metre. Check out the details on my website under "Water Levels".

ANYONE FOR A PADDLE?
A recently arrived visitor from Tassie wants some company for a Collie trip whilst there's still water. He's available during the week or weekend, has transport and a Dagger Redline playboat. Please find attached flyer on a paddling course for young people, aged 11-18 years. (slaljun.doc) It's to be held at Swan Canoe Club, Mosman Park, on Wednesday evenings. Check out the 'FOR SALE' column of the Bulletin Board for some bargain priced, used, plastic white water kayaks.

Also for sale from Scripture Union is a huge amount of second hand camping equipment which is still usable. It's all very reasonably priced: dome tents, rucksacks, small gas burners, one 25hp runabout boat.
