From Albany Canoe Club Newsletter, Southern Paddler
Terry Engeldow of Albany Canoe Club passed away recently. He was an original member of the club and was involved with all its aspects. He competed in the Avon Descent many times and the Victorian Murray River Marathon as well as being a keen social paddler. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.

Bridgetown

If you are interested in finding out about or commenting on options for the new alignment of the SW Highway as it goes through Bridgetown go to the following URL and download the (rather large) PDF file. (DR paddlers won't want it across the Photographer's Rapid!) Dept. Planning & Infrastructure is asking for comments. http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/regional/bridgetown/index.html

 Week 3/December
Collie Water Releases - from Greg Curnow, Harvey Water

"We have finally got the Wellington Dam Releases onto our web site -  <http://www.harveywater.com.au/>www.harveywater.com.au  - updated 4 hourly and available for 28 hours ahead.

From me: I have linked to Harvey Water's page from http://www.iinet.net.au/~rokhor/canoe/waterlevcoll.html where you can also find out the corresponding level at the gauging station for the water releases.
The Collie is paddleable at about 0.7m at the gauging station. 1.2m is very high - some of the lower rapids may even start to get washed out.
Happy Paddling!
From my front page click on Useful Info - River Levels, then click on Collie River.
