The water kept rising the whole weekend at Bridgetown and made for some fun paddling and fast times. Half the river bank at the start line was under water.
Results are <http://www.iinet.net.au/~rokhor/canoe/geeg04results.html>here and there's some pics of race paddlers at "Rock in the Middle at the Bottom" (also known as "first elbow" ) by Di Bramley <http://members.iinet.net.au/~rokhor/canoe/geeg04rapid4.html>here.
That race concludes this year's Wild Water Series which was generously sponsored by Terry Bolland's Canoeing Down Under. If you'd like to become involved with planning the races Neil 0417 928 676 or Grant 0417 945 577 would love to hear from you.
Winnijup, Blackwood River
This little paddled stretch of white water 29km upstream of Bridgetown was almost washed out last weekend due to the high water level - (The Falls not quite!) The Rapid Sprints race of the National Wildwater Champs was held at Winnijup last year. See last weekend pics of river <http://members.iinet.net.au/~rokhor/canoe/geeg04rapid4.html>here

Otherwise ring Mary, 9380 6313 or Gena, 9385 0802. All are welcome. There are other activities planned as well as paddling so there's sure to be something for everyone.

[Brett, who is a paddler, says: "I ended up with them because a business owed me for providing financial planning advice to them and they paid me by way of the skis. I spoke to a local transport company (Dougherty) and they said they would freight them over for $330 Double Ski and $250 for the Single skis - fully bubble wrapped and inside the canopy of the truck. This price was only for one item. Apparently it gets cheaper if I send more than one."]
