map to come . . .
Karnup Road Bridge - roadside car parking only - To start with there is a deepened and widened channel of the river, flowing through farmland, then the natural river and eventually lakes system and nature reserves
- plentiful birdlife around lakes: water birds and bush birds
- paddleable only after winter rains - otherwise too shallow. If there's a good flow in the channel at Karnup Road then it's paddleable all the way.
- finding the way into Lake Amarillo may be a challenge as the river tends to disperse widely through trees into the more open section of lake! Also the exit south is not obvious until you get close!
