"Robyn has asked for a few words for the general public's information about the section Barker Road Ford to Larkin Rd Bridge - easy in three words - don't do it!. There are lots of channels, falls, trees and blackberries combining in an unfriendly manner to create an epic at best. In high water we are talking grade five, in low water just really hard and uncomfortable. Not a picnic. Do not try this in any level unless you are say... comfortable on the lower Murray... and want a yukky epic (as opposed to a fun epic.) Everyone I know who has done this bit, including me, has come back with epic stories of pain, anguish, fear, narrow escapes from drowning, lost boats, and overnight gray hairs. If you fancy that special feeling of disbelief you get while being ripped to shreds by overhanging blackberries while sliding down narrow tree infested waterfalls this is the place. Some of you might read between the lines that I am not recommending this section for the general public and you would be correct. There are better places on the Warren to paddle."
