Mechanical Fabrication
Our most valued service is the manufacture of complex components that require the combination of various operations and experience in mechanical fabrication, parts repair and machining.
These aircraft jacks were manufactured for the Defence Force C130 Aircraft maintenance and were designed with lift hydraulics, mechanical locking, load sensors and self retractable castors. Special procedures were required in the fabrication so as not to distort the hydraulic cylinders or castor retraction mechanisms due to the tight tolerances of the systems. The hydraulic valve plate was welded into the assembly and pressure quality welding was required throughout.
The train transition pieces shown in the photographs above were manufactured using planed stages of welding and machining to ensure the quality and trueness of the completed products. If not done correctly such stresses will release uncontrollably during manufacture or in service and resulting in buckled and useless components. With this design there are slide mechanisms, cams and locking pieces that all work together in a welded structure and the failure of any one will render the transition units useless.
This compact heat exchanger was manufactured by our boilermakers from nothing more than a failed sample. The machine was of European manufacture and replacement parts were unavailable. We had the machine back in service in three days saving the client a great deal of lost production.
This fabricated gear wheel was specially produced to replace a damaged gear wheel where its matching gear was badly worn and not procurable. The teeth on the new gear were redesigned before fabrication to overcome this wear. The resulting gear now gives smooth and reliable operation extending the life of the machine by many years.
