Sample Projects
Below is a quick sample of some of the work that has been through our workshop..

These large air craft lift stand was produced for the R.A.A.F. to suit the air frames of their C130 aircraft during major service. The jack mechanisms were made so that the user could monitor the force exerted on the aircraft while it was being lifted so as to ensure constant and even support. The stands were rated at 5 ton lifting capacity and 18 of these "jacks" are used per aircraft to ensure an even force distribution. Once loaded the hydraulic cylinders could be locked mechanically using the external lock rings shown on each stage of the stand. Mobility of the stands was attributed to spring loaded castor wheels mounted within the pods, the wheels would automatically retract on loading. As above, these units were designed and produced entirely by Rolliston Engineering according to the clients requirements. To date some 38 units have been supplied in three separate orders.

The experimental plot seeders on the right were produced for the WA Department of Agriculture. They were reproductions of a prototype for which no manufacturing drawings existed! The Seeders were designed to deliver (sow) a certain amount of seed per square metres of land along with measured amounts of fertilizer. Seed, fertilizer and mix ratio were all monitored and adjusted from within the cab. The tynes frames were kept horizontal at all times via phased hydraulic actuators.

The sheet metal roll former on the right was made for a silo manufacturing company in the south-west of Australia. The sheet metal was passed through stages of deformation until the final profile was achieved at the last set of rollers. The machine was designed and produced entirely by Rolliston Engineering, off-the-shelf items were used where it proved cheaper for the client.
The current workshop for Rolliston Engineering was also a project handled by Rolliston Engineering. The factory was purchased from disused mine site some 300km from Perth, dismantled and re-erected on our land in Wangara. You can click on the picture to view its construction stages.
