of Arts, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur 1981/1983, presently looking
after
the farmlands in Ajabpur Kalan and Niranjanpur Tea Estate in Dehra Dun
(ancestral properties), married 2nd February 1995 in Jaipur, Thakurani
Jyoti Kanwar, daughter of Thakur
Raghubir Singhji of Thikana Banskhoh,
and his wife, Thakurani Sudhir Kumari, born
July 18th 1973, educated at Maharani Gayatri Devi Girl's School,
Jaipur;
and has issue, one son.
- Kunwar Dhritimaan Deo Singh Chandella, born 7th January
1996 in Jaipur, educated at Sanskar International School, Dehra Dun and
at Sela Qui International School, Sela Qui, Dehra Dun, India.

PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: Ajabpur
is one
of the largest Zamindaris in the state and was founded by the
Chandella's of Ajubpore, who migrated from Budelkhand to Cawnpore after
fighting the Mughals, they later shifted to Dehra Dun with Nuwada as
their capital. Some of them also settled in Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and
Rajasthan. The Zamindari of Ajabpur (then Ajubpore) had its capital and
fortress at Nuwada. The revenue in 1804 was Rs. 97,645.00 and consisted
of 15 Villages and 5 Pargana's that were Nuwada, Ajubpore, Kurnpore,
Kaulaghir, Kyarkoolee, Bhat Beer, Bhogpore, Suhumspore, Pirtheepore,
Kulyanpore, Nagul, Rajpore, Bhugwuntpore, Thano and Dudlee. The village
of Dudlee was given to the Mahant of Daat Mandir. Rani Kurnavatee made
the famous Rajpore Canal that started from Rajpore stretching through
East Canal Road to Ajubpore. The famous Mata Mandir of Ajubpore was
made in 1905 and is still run by the elected members of the family.
Ajboo Kunwar was the Viceroy of Dehra Dun during the British Raj. The
Rani Sati Mandir was also built in this era in Ajubpore. Their Pitr
Wada and a mandir was built on the hills of Shashtradhara that still
exists. The mandir of their Kul Devta Nar Singhji is in Ajubpore.
