PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The Nawab of Baoni is the only Muslim ruler in Bundelkhand and is a descendant of the Nawabs of Hyderabad. The state came into being with grant of a jagir of 52 villages by the Peshwa in 1784, and in 1806 the validity of the grant was acknowledged by the Governor-General. Rulers were as follows.....

  4. Nawab Azim-ud-daula Nasir ul-Mulk MUHAMMED HUSAIN KHAN Bahadur, 4th Nawab of Baoni 1838/1859, married and had issue.

  6. HH Azam-ul-Umra Fakhr-ud-Daula Main-ul-Mulk Saheb-i-Jan Mihin Sardar Nawab MUHAMMED HUSAIN KHAN Bahadur Zafar Jang, 6th Nawab of Baoni 1883/1893, born 1863, succeeded 5th October 1883 (#1), he was granted the titles of Fakhr ud-Daula, Main ul-Mulk and Zafar Jang in 1888.

HH Azam-ul-Umra Fakhr-ud-Daula Main-ul-Mulk Saheb-i-Jan Mihin Sardar Nawab RIAZ al-HASAN KHAN Bahadur Zafar Jang, 7th Nawab of Baoni 1893/1911, born 28th October 1876 (#2 p.117), he succeeded to the masnad on 2nd August 1894 (#2 p.117), he was entrusted with part of the administration on 1st January 1903, he attended the Prince of Wales Durbar at Indore on 16th November 1905, married and had issue. He died 27th October 1911 (#4 p.40).

HH Azam-ul-Umra Fakhr-ud-Daula Main-ul-Mulk Saheb-i-Jan Mihin Sardar Nawab MOHAMMED MUSHTAQ al-HASSAN KHAN Bahadur Zafar Jang, 8th Nawab of Baoni 1911/- , born 7th February 1896 (#3 p.10), he succeeded to the masnad on 28th October 1911 (#3 p.10); he was invested with full ruling powers on 7th February 1918 (#4 p.40); educated at Mayo College, Ajmer and at Daly College, Indore; married 1stly, in March 1917, a daughter of the Nawab of Kunjpura, she died in 1930, married 2ndly, 1931, a daughter of the Nawab of Maler Kotla, and had issue. He died after 1970.
    • Rajkumarani Sajida Sultan, born on (21st) September 1932 (#5 p.34), married (as his first wife) (div.), Rajkumar Syed Asif Ali Khan of Nanpara.
