born 30th June 1951, educated at Daly College, Indore; married 15th November 1976, Rani Anjali Devi, born 17th February 195x, daughter of the Paranjpe family of Pune, and has issue, one son and one daughter.

  1. Shrimant GOPAL RAO RAMCHANDRA RAO PATWARDHAN, 1st Chief of Jamkhandi 1811/1840, born 1799, married Radha Bai Fadnis, daughter of Shri Fadnis of Pune, and had adoptive issue. He died sp in 1840.

Shrimant RAMCHANDRA RAO GOPAL RAO [APPASAHEB] PATWARDHAN, 2nd Chief of Jamkhandi 1840/1897, born 7th November 1833, son of Antaji Madhavrao [Tatyasaheb] Yadhwadkar, adopted 18th November 1840 by the widow of his predecessor, succeeded 18th November 1840 (#1), installed on the gaddi on 7th January 1853, married 1stly, Laxmibai, daughter of Hari Mahadev Godbole of Tasganv, married 2ndly, Janaki Bai, daughter of Manohar Joshi of Sangli, married 3rdly, 6th March 1861, Sita Bai, daughter of Nene of Shedbal, married 4thly, Parvati Bai, daughter of Apte of Pali, she died 30th January 1874, and had issue, one son and one daughter, as well as an adoptive son. He died 12th January 1897.

  3. Capt.(Hon). Sir Shrimant PARASHURAM RAO RAMCHANDRA RAO I alias BHAUSAHEB PATWARDHAN, 3rd Chief of Jamkhandi 1897/1924, adopted from the Chinchanikar branch of the Patwardhan family, Chief of Jamkhandi, born 9th May 1883, succeeded 13th January 1897, installed 4th June 1903, K.C.I.E. [cr. Jan-1913] (#2), took active part in France in 1915, during WW1, in 1918 he was granted a 9-gun salute and made Hon. Captain in the British Army, he as a supervisor of Red Cross in the Mesopotamia, married 1stly, 1900, Shri Lady Ramabaisaheb [née Rama Bai Raste], daughter of Bala Sahib Raste, from the village of Vai, died 1st October 1907, Regent-in-Council during the minority of her son, married 2ndly, 12th June 1913, Damle, daughter of Damle of Pune and had issue, one son and one daughter. He died 25th February 1924 (#4 p.23) (by being crushed under the feet of an angry elephant).

Raja Saheb Shrimant SHANKARRAO PARASHURAMRAO alias APPASAHEB PATWARDHAN K.B.E., 4th Raja of Jamkhandi 1924/1947, born 5th November 1906 (#4 p.23), he succeeded to the gadi on 25th February 1924 (#2), educated at the Sardar's High School, Belgaum and the Rajaram College, Kolhapur, as well as privately; he was invested with full ruling powers on 27th May 1926 (#4 p.23), he inaugurated a People's Representative assembly in 1932; he was conferred with the title of Raja as a hereditary distinction in June 1935; an elected President of the Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Poona; he was appointed an Honorary A.D.C. to His Excellency, the Governor of Bombay in 1927, a Representative Member of the Chamber of Princes on behalf of the Southern Maratha States in the Bombay Residency for eleven years, subsequently a member in his own right; K.B.E. [cr.1947], he was awrded the Silver Jubilee and Coronation Medals in 1935 and 1937 respectively; married in March 1925, Shrimant Soubhagyavati Lady Lilavatibai Sahib, Ranisaheb of Jamkhandi, Kaisar-i-Hind Gold Medal [xx.1.1941], daughter of Shrimant Madhavrao Moreshwarrao Pandit, Pant Amatya, Chief Saheb of Bavda Ramchandra, and had issue, one son. He died 22nd August 1947.

    • Dr. Indu Patwardhan, born 14th May 1926, educated at P.B. High School, Jamkhandi and Rajaram College, Kolhapur; achieved diplomas in Occupational Therapy, Homeopathy, Ayurvedic Visharad and Sangeet Visharad, awarded "Dalit Mitra" in Maharashtra State and "Tamra Patraprashasti" from Karnataka State. Dr Indu Patwardhan left home to join Gandhi's movement of Sabarmati in 1942, later was trained as a school teacher by Madam Maria Montessory, and was working at St. Columbia High School, Bombay for two months before being selected to join the then British India Red Cross and St. John Ambulance. After intensive training she was posted to Burma under active service during World War II and was the first Indian lady working actively in South East Asia and thereafter worked in military hospital, Poona. She was the joint lady camp commandant with lady Martten and was responsible for the rehabilitation of refugees and women abductees in Pakistan. Later she studied Homeopathy and started her own clinic in rural areas of Poona, worked with the Poona Women's Council, the troops aid committee. She was a founder member of Poona Blindmen's Association. In 1965 she started worked with leprosy sufferers and in 1970 established Anandgam for their benefit. She died 8th February 1999.

  5. Raja Saheb Shrimant PARSHURAM RAO II alias BHAUSAHEB PATWARDHAN, 5th Raja of Jamkhandi 1947/1953, born 1926, last ruling Prince of Jamkhandi, having merged his state in the Indian Union on 19th February 1948, married and had issue, two sons. He died 18th December 1953.
