born 22nd August 1953 in Kishangarh, married 9th November 1981, HH Maharani Meenakshi Devi, daughter of Thakur Sahib Kalyan Singhji of Gagret, and has issue, two daughters.
PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The founder of the state was Kishan Singh, second son of Maharaja Udai Singhji of Jodhpur, who left there in 1596 and having come under the notice of Emperor Akbar, he was granted the sanad of Hindaun, which he did not accept. Subsequently, he conquered the region around Setholao near Ajmer. In 1611, he founded the town of Kishangarh which has since remained the capital of the state. The first treaty with the British Government was made in 1818 by Maharaja Kalyan Singh under which the state pays no tribute to the Imperial Government. The Maharaja maintains a military force of 499 cavalry, 2000 infantry, and 51 guns, and is entitled to a salute of 15 guns (as of 1892).   1. Raja KISHAN SINGH, 1st Raja of Kishangarh 1611/1615, born 1575, son of Maharaja Udai Singh of Jodhpur, he founded the town of Kishangarh, which became the capital of the state; married and had issue. He died 1615.

  2. Raja SAHAS MAL, 2nd Raja of Kishangarh 1615/1618, born 1598, he succeeded to the gadi on Asoj Sudi 3, 1672 V.S., he was in the service of Padshah Jahangir and took part in an expedition to Jafarabad, married and had issue. He died spm in 1618.

  3. Raja JAG MAL, 3rd Raja of Kishangarh 1618/1629, born 1601, he succeeded his brother in 1618. He died 1629.

  4. Raja HARI SINGH, 4th Raja of Kishangarh 1628/1643, born 1607, he succeeded in 1628. He died sp in 1643.

  5. Raja RUP SINGH, 5th Raja of Kishangarh 1643/1658, born 1628 at Babera Fort, he succeeded in 1643, he built Roopangarh Fort in 1649, married and had issue. He died 1658 in the battle of Dharmat against Prince Aurangzeb of Delhi, and his queens Ratnade, Rangrude and Atiripde all committed sati (#7).

  6. Umdae Rajhae Raja MAN SINGH, 6th Raja of Kishangarh 1658/1706, born in September 1655 (Bhadva Sudi 3rd, VS 1712), he rendered good service in the Deccan and was with Prince Kaim Bukhsh in the attack on the fort of Jungi; on his sisters marriage to Prince Khurram, son of Padshah Aurangzeb his mansab was raised to 4,000; married and had issue. He died 1st November 1706 at Patan.

  7. Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Raja RAJ SINGH Bahadur, 7th Raja of Kishangarh 1706/1748, born 1675 (Kati Sudi 11th, VS 1731), he was granted a mansab of 3000 by Padshah Bahadur Shah who also conferred on him the title of Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan in 1707; married and had issue, five sons. He died at Roopnagar in 1748 (Baisakh Badi 7th, VS 1805).

  8. Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Raja SAWANT SINGH, 8th Raja of Kishangarh 1748/1764, born 1699, he became a sadu and took the name Nagri Das; married and had issue. He died at Vrindavan in 1764 (Bhadva Sudi 3rd, VS 1821).

  9. Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Raja SARDAR SINGH, 9th Raja of Kishangarh 1764/1766, born 1730, married and had adoptive issue. He died sp in 1766 (Bhaisakh Badi Amavasya, VS 1823).

  10. Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Raja BAHADUR SINGH, 10th Raja of Kishangarh 1766/1781, born 1711, ancestor of the Fatehgarh, Dhos, Kacholia and Zorawarpura families, married and had issue. He died 1781.

  11. Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Raja BIRAD SINGH, 11th Raja of Kishangarh 1781/1788, born 1737 (#6, p.1385), he succeeded in 1781, he was a great devotee of Shri Nathji and a liberal and learned man; married and had issue. He died 1788 at Vrindavan.

  12. Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Raja PRATAP SINGH, 12th Raja of Kishangarh 1788/1797, born 1762 (Bhadava Sudi 11th, VS 1819), he supported the Marathas as a result of a dispute with Jodhpur and Jaipur and came off the worst in the encounter and had to pay a penalty of 3 lakhs, married and had issue, as well further issue. He died 1797 (Phagun Badi 4th, VS 1854).

  13. Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Raja KALYAN SINGH, 13th Raja of Kishangarh 1797/1838, born 1795 (Kati Badi 12th, VS 1851), he entered into a treaty with the British Government on 26th March 1818; his rule was spoiled by disputes with his nobles so that he entrusted the administration of the state to his son in 1832 and left to live at Ajmer; married and had issue. He died 1838 at Delhi. (Jeth Sudi 10th, VS 1895).

  14. Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Raja MOKHAM SINGH, 14th Raja of Kishangarh 1838/1841, born 1816 (Bhadva Sudi 5th, VS 1873), he succeeded in 1838. He died 1841.

  15. HH Maharaja PRITHVI SINGHHH Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Maharajadhiraj Maharaja PRITHVI SINGH Bahadur, 15th Maharaja of Kishangarh 1841/1880, born 1837 (Baisakh Badi 10th, VS 1894), he was adopted from the Fatehgarh family, married a daughter of Rajadhiraj Madho Singh of Shahpura, and had issue. He died 1880.

  16. HH Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Maharajadhiraj Maharaja SADUL SINGH Bahadur G.C.I.E., 16th Maharaja of Kishangarh 1880/1900, born 10th December 1858 (Poha Badi 9th, VS 1914), he succeeded to the gadi on 6th January 1880, he was created a Knight Grand Commander of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire on 1st January 1892, married 1stly, 1870, Maharajkumari Yash Kumari, eldest daughter of Maharao Umaid Singhji II of Sirohi, and had issue, as well as further issue by a Junior wife. He died 1900.

  17. Lt.-Col. HH Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Maharajadhiraj Maharaja Sir MADAN SINGH Bahadur K.C.S.I., K.C.I.E., 17th Maharaja of Kishangarh 1900/1926, born 2nd November 1884 (#1) (Kati Sudi 14th, VS 1941), he succeeded to the gadi in August 1900; during his minority the administration was carried on by the State Council under the supervision of the Resident at Jaipur; he was invested with full ruling powers in 1905; he was a good polo player; the state prospered during his reign; K.C.I.E. [cr.1909], K.C.S.I. [cr.1911], married 1stly, 1904, Maharajkumari Omkar Kanwar, died sp, daughter of HH 108 Sri Maharaj Adhiraj Raj Rajeshwar Ravi Kula Bushana-Mahi Mahindra Yavadarya Kula Kamaldhivakara Chattis Rajkul Singar Maharana Shri Sir Fateh Singhji Bahadur Hindua Suraj Hindupati, Maharana of Udaipur, married 2ndly, 1911, Yashwant Kunwari, daughter of Thakur Gopal Sinh Jadeja of Khirasra, married 3rdly, 1926, Anand Kunwari, daughter of Rao Madho Singh Sarang Dev Sagtawat of Batheda, and had issue, by 2nd wife. He died 26th September 1926 (#3 p.287) or 10th January 1926 (#2) (#3).

  18. HH Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Maharajadhiraja Maharaja YAGYANARAYAN SINGH Bahadur, 18th Maharaja of Kishangarh 1926/1939, born 26th January 1896 (#3 p.287), he succeeded to the gadi on 24th November 1926 (#3 p.287); educated at Mayo College, Ajmer where he passed the Diploma Examination; married 1stly, in May 1915, Bhanwar Kumari, daughter of the Raja Bahadur Raghunath Singh Khichi of Naya-Killa [Madhusudangarh], she had issue, one son, married 2ndly, 1933, Pratap Kanwar, grand-daughter of the Raja Bahadur Raghunath Singh Khichi of Naya-Killa [Madhusudangarh], she had issue, two daughters, and had issue. He died 3rd February 1939.

  19. HH Umdae Rajhae Buland Makan Maharajadhiraj Maharaja SUMER SINGHJI Bahadur, 19th Maharaja of Kishangarh 1939/1971, born 27th January 1929, son of Thakur Budh Singh, Jagirdar of Zorawarpura, he succeeded to the gadi on 24th April 1939; educated at Mayo College, Ajmer; married 30th January 1948, Maharajkumari Gita Kumari, daughter of Thakore Sahib Shri Sir Bahadursinhji Mansinhji, Thakore Sahib of Palitana, and his wife Thakorani Sitaba Sahiba, and had issue. He died 16th February 1971.
