B.Sc., educated at St. Luke’s High School, Solan (Himachal Pradesh) and D.A.V. College, Chandigarh, born 2nd February 1949 in Bangalore, Member of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly 1977/1985, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Government of Himachal Pradesh 1978/1979, member of the 9th Lok Sabha 1989, 12th Lok Sabha 1998 and 13th Lok Sabha 1999, member of the Rajya Sabha 1992/1998, member of various parliamentary committees 1992/-, married 6th June 1971, Rani Mera Kumari, daughter of Shri Narendra Shumsher Rana, and has issue, two sons.
PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The family enjoyed independence up to the time of the Maharaia Ranjit Singh of Lahore, who wrested the country from Rai Ajitsingh, the last independent Raja of Kullu, but bestowed the Wazir-i- Rupi estate in Kullu on Rai Thakur Singh. 2. It is uncertain whether he was the first of a new dynasty or whether he was originally known as Sidh Pal, and thus related to the previous ruler. Nevertheless, he is the first to bear the surname of Singh, and is considered the first of the Badani or Koli Dynasty of Kullu.
