PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The ancestors of the family were originally Chauhan Kshatriyas in the service of the Sayyids of Pihani, having migrated from Rajasthan in the 16th century. Jamni Khan, an early ancestor, obtained the post of Chaudhuri of Kheri from Sayyid Khurda in 1553, with a right to levy tax on all the lands in that pargana. His descendants gradually increased their possessions, the Chaudhri Parbal Singh owning Oel, Kaimahra, and Khogi, and his descendant, the Rai Than Singh, of Oel, owning many more villages.     • Raja Haldeo Singh, Raja of Kheri, he was adopted by his father-in-law, Raja Mahaman Singh of Kheri, the last of the Janwar taluqdars of Kheri, and succeeded him in his estates; his descendants continued to hold the pargana of Kheri till the 18th century, when Raja Aparbal Singh was driven out by the Gaur Rajputs of Katesar and had to flee to Muttra with his sons; subsequently the pargana came under the Sayyids of Muhamdi, but after their downfall, Raja Aparbal Singh, returned and regained his estate.

He died 1984.

PREDECESSORS and SHORT HISTORY: Also known as Charda or Churda. The Raja Sahib of Kaimahra represented the elder branch (while the Raja Saheb of Oel, represents the Junior branch). They were originally Chauhan Kshatriyas in the service of the Sayyids of Pihani, having migrated from Rajputana in the 16th century. In the time of Sayyid Khurd, in 1553, their ancestor Jamni Khan obtained the post of Chaudhri of Kheri, with the right to levy a cess on all the lands in that Pargana. The estate was merged into that Oel, on the death of Rani Dayant Kanwar. Estate holders were....
