PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: This Fifth Class State is a Jurisdictional Taluka and includes the Bhayati Estate of Pajod (qv), it also has a share in Bantwa Bara Majmu Taluka. The territory borders on the North of Gondal's largest block of territory, and is otherwise enclosed within Junagadh. Following the partition of the taluka of Bantva into Manavadar and Bantva in 1760, Sher Zaman Khan Babi received Bantva. Upon his death, his two sons partitioned it again in equal shares, Mukhtiar Khan received Gidad (now known as Sardargarh).   • Khan Shri MUKHTYARKHANJI SHERJAMAKHANJI, 1st Khan Sahib of Gidad 1779/1813, son of Khan Shri Sherzamankhanji of Bantva, itself an off-shoot of Junagadh, married and had issue. He died 1813.
    • Khanzada Shri Salabatkhanji Mukhtiarkhanji, married and had issue. He died before 1813.
      • Khanzada Shri Anwarkhanji Salabatkhanji, died young.

      • Khanzada Shri Sujayatkhanji Salabatkhanji, he was granted the jagir of Pajod in about 1820, as his share of his father's estate, he married and had issue (see Pajod).
  • Khan Shri NATHUKHANJI SALABATKHANJI, 2nd Khan Sahib of Gidad 1813/1867, married and had issue, three sons. He died 1867.

    • Khanzada Husain Yarkhanji Nathukhanji, he was granted the estate of Sultanpur as his share of his father's estate (see below).

  • Khan Shri SAMATKHANJI NATHUKHANJI, 3rd Khan Sahib of Sardargadh 1867/1903, born 1858 or 1854 (#1), married and had issue, an only son. He died 1903.

  • Khan Shri HUSAIN YAWARKHANJI SAMATKHANJI, 4th Khan Sahib of Sardargadh 1903/1933 (deposed), born 14th July 1880, he succeeded to the gadi on 6th March 1903; in 1933, after a lenghthy trial for criminal misconduct related, amongst other things, to a dispute involving ownership of the village of Pajod, subordinate to Sardargarh, the Khan of Sardargarh was deposed and banished to Bombay, he later abdicated in 1940; married Begum Amir Bhakte, and had issue. He died in Rajkot.

  • Khan Shri GHULAM MOINUDDINKHANJI HUSAINYAWARKHANJI, 5th Khan Sahib of  Sardargadh 1934/1947, born 11th June 1919 (#2 p.328), he succeeded to the gadi on 19th January 1934 (#2 p.328) and settled in Pakistan after the partition of India; married on 11th November 1945, Nawabzadi Bima Shri Inayat Bakhte Sahiba, died 1959, third daughter of Nawab Sir Muhammad Mahabat Khan II of Junagadh, and had issue.
