born 17th September 1985 in Nuku'alofa, 8th 'Ulukalala (effective 26th September 2006); he becane Heir-Apparent to the throne of Tonga on 18th March 2012 and also succeeded to the title of Tupoutoa'a; his awards and medals include the following; Knight Grand Cross with Collar of the Royal Order of Pouono, Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Crown of Tonga, Knight Grand Cross with Collar of the Order of Queen Salote Tupou III, King Tupou VI Coronation Medal, King George Tupou V Coronation Medal, married 12th July 2012 in Nuku'alofa, Princess Sinaitakala Tu'imatamoana 'i Fanakavakilangi Fakafanua, daughter of Hon. Kinikinilau Tutoatasi Fakafanua [The Noble Fakafanua], 7th Fakafanua, and his wife, HRH Princess Sinaitakala 'Ofeina'ehe Langi Tuku'aho, and has issue. PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The title was created for Hon. Sione Mateialona Tupou, a former Prime Minister of Tonga on the 5th of January in 1921. He died without an heir and the title remained vacant until it was recreated for the eldest son of HM Queen Salote Tupou III, and who later succeded as HM King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV, since then it has remained in the Royal Family. The estates that belong to the title holder are, 'Utulau and all parts belonging to it in Tongatapu.
