PROJECT WORK
These are some of the projects undertaken by RS & GSAustralia
Western Australia - numerous photogeological, MSS, TM image based projects in areas of the Kimberley, Pilbara and many in the Yilgarn related to gold and base metal exploration for both junior explorers and multinational corporations. Processing and evaluation of Geoscan Mk 1 & 2 data, structural and basin studies of the Perth Basin (gold and beach sands), Tanami Desert region and the Peak Hill region. This work led to the recognition of structural controls for both base metals and gold on a cratonic scale and the pin-pointing of deposits located after the studies were completed.
Northern Territory - integrated Landsat, photogeological and field studies down to open-pit scale to determine local and regional controls for gold mineralisation. Three dimensional modeling of complex flysch-hosted reef gold mineralisation.
South Australia - Major stratigraphic and structural interpretation on the Olary region, spectral and structural targeting for gold and base metals.
Queensland - Remote sensing and geophysical evaluations of the Marlborough nickel deposits, radiometric, magnetic, TM and topographic and drill-data interpretations to define controls of host and laterite distribution. Airphoto evaluations of Palmer River alluvial gold deposits.
New South Wales - evaluation of TM data for gold mineralising controls, three dimensional modelling of surface and underground exploration database.
International
Botswana -TM based projects for diamond (SW Botswana) and gold exploration (NE Schistbelts), targeting kimberlitic occurrence and a new gold discovery.
Cote d'Ivore - Generation of TM image for gold exploration.
China - MSS image based tectonic study.
Ghana - Several projects covering the Ashanti gold-bearing belt, involving tectonic breakdown, mapping of thrusts and other major fault systems, together with mapping of stratigraphy and identification of gold bearing and potential gold-bearing targets.
Indonesia - SPOT, TM and airphoto-based studies with subsequent field evaluations in some areas, identification of structures controlling gold deposit. Major TM and JERS radar studies covering gold projects in Kalimantan. Tectonic and stratigraphic synthesis, identification of porphyry and structural targets for gold and base metals.
Irian Jaya - TM and JERS radar image processing, data rectification and fusion.
Malaysia - TM and Radarsat image production, fusion and structural and stratigraphic interpretation along the Raub-Bentong Suture, identification of potentially gold bearing structures and correlations with mine-scale gold mineralisation.
Mali - TM image generation to identify potentially gold-bearing structure. Innovative processing used to overcome multi-source pixel contamination.
Spain - detailed photogeological study over central Spain sedimentary sequence.
Solomon Islands - mine-scale audit and structural study to evaluate tectonic setting and mineralisation controls of the Gold Ridge gold deposit.
Tanzania - major regional TM-based study of the Lake Victoria gold field providing detailed geological and regolith maps and leading to the recognition of tectonic-scale unifying controls for gold mineralisation. Fine tuning of data over selected projects by airphoto and ground geological mapping.
