January 2003 - Happy New Year !!! What happened to 2002? It has
been a fairly busy start to the new year with the final planning and preperation for
Linux Conf Au 2003 at the
University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth.
Two days of mini conferences leading up to the main conference.. how can any
linux enthusiast miss this? I've taken a week from work and plan to soak in as much
knowledge as possible from the impressive line up of
speakers appearing.
Hopefully before the end of the month is out, we will have an ADSL connection, but that
of course depends on when??? Tel$tra enable our exchange. Today is the day
it was meant to happen. More later...
November 2002 - Safe surfing and how to stay healthy online - See my link of

The 800 Duron chip has been replaced with a 1300Mhz model and
Libranet linux now dual boots on my machine.
Libranet is derived from
Debian which has to be the easiest
distribution of linux to use as far as updates and package management is concerned.
Gotta love apt-get... even my little server has the latest testing
version of Debian installed.
September 2001 - Not a lot has happened to the page, but
the new AMD 800 box is now alive and things are actually happening.
I'm currently protecting my network from Nimda and other nasties with the most
recent version of SmoothWall 0.9.9.
