John Debney won an EMMY for his main title for SeaQuest DSV -- which I enjoyed -- but I bought this on someone's recommendation that said it was the best score of all time. The first time I listened to this I thought: "What is this guy talking about?". The second time I thought it wasn't bad, and by the time I listened to it a third time I actually liked it.
Its suitability for roleplaying is unquestionable, as I get the feeling Debney choose all his favourite tunes and rapped it up into this score. Most of the music is action orientated, so will work best with . . . well, action orientated adventures. I would tend to use the music for fantasy genre roleplaying, especially if you can dig up a few pirates.
On the whole, its diversity is its greatest strength. A good, solid score. If you want fantastic, look at Willow.
