Kull the Conqueror Joel Goldsmith
Review
I'm not overly found of making soundtracks "hip" by adding "rock" music to the mix. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It work wonderfully in The Princess Bride because it was mainly soft, twanging guitar. It worked pretty well in Dune and Ladyhawke I worked less well in Romeo + Juliet and seemed more of a rock album with no lyrics. The biggest shame was some of the pure orchestral music (live the love theme) was so good.
The same is the case with Kull the Conqueror. Happily the guitar riffs have been limited to the fight scenes and have been duly noted. The rest is pretty good fare to use in fantasy campaigns. The obligatory chorus in Askalante on Ice and Saving Zereta lend a religious undertone to the score. The rest is grand stuff for the adventures of legends. Well worth looking at.
