DESIGN
I have worked as a Graphic
Designer for the past 12 years. In this time I have produced a wide variety of
quality work. Below is my CV and PDF Portfolio which are available for download.
I began my working design
career at Redlands Tourism. Here I was responsible for designing all kinds of
brochures, leaflets and flyers. The office was PC based and I used Photoshop
for image editing and PageMaker for desktop layout.
An example of a booklet
I produced here was called 'Minjerribah - An Indigenous Story of North Stradbroke
Island. This was a full colour 26-page booklet describing the history of Stradbroke
Island through the eyes of an Aboriginal Elder, Aunty Margaret Iselin. I liaised
directly with Aunty Margaret and an Aboriginal illustrator, Matthew Burns. His
line drawings were scanned as line art and inserted throughout the document.
Prestige Litho at Zillmere printed the booklet. The booklets are currently still available from Redlands Tourism.
I also produced a photographic
booklet on the Redland Shire.
In 1998 I decided to further
increase & broaden my skills by enrolling in a Diploma of Multimedia at
Moreton Institute of TAFE for the year 1999. Here I was able to learn a wide
range of skills from the basic elements & principles of design to advanced
3D animation using 3D MAX. The elements of design - line, colour, tone, mass,
form, shape, texture and space as well as principles such as balance, harmony,
contrast, movement, emphasis, rhythm, repetition, unity an proportion must be
used to create a satisfying, complete and harmonious design.
I produced two interactive
CD-ROM's taking into consideration the above. One was for Moreton Institute
of TAFE and the other was a personal CD-ROM. The course also allowed me to broaden
my design skills and bring myself up to date with the latest software releases.
Once I completed the course
I was successful in my application for the position of graphic designer with
the company formerly know as Jupiter's. Here I primarily started designing posters
and point of sale items for Keno. This evolved into creating presentations for
managers using Macromedia Director and Microsoft PowerPoint.
I worked for just over 5
years at Tabcorp before our entire team was made redundant. Here I used a wide
range of software to create and produce all kinds of printed and online media.
My skill base is very diverse and I have an extensive knowledge of the techniques
and applications needed to produce high quality designs.
I now work for EB Games at their head office in Pinkenba.
