Sendiri is my cyber name. It's Indonesian for "individual", "one-self".

My home is in Northbridge, Western Australia, right in the city of  Perth.

For leisure I surf (on ocean waves), cycle, walk, travel, ski (on snow), and sit and drink coffee with friends.

I do lots.   My passion is surfing but because of my busy life and the place I live, I don’t do it as much as I like.  Most years I escape to Bali for a few weeks to make up for lost opportunities.

These trips encouraged me to learn to speak Indonesian and it has been fun.

I keep reasonably fit by riding my bike to work a couple of days a week.   On weekends, weather and waves permitting, I go surfing with my mate since primary school, Colin. When we can, we make our way down south to Margaret River for some real waves.

I love to travel.   I've been to Indonesia many times, Singapore and Thailand. I've also travelled widely in Australia and overseas.

In 1997 I completed a northern hemisphere, circumnavigation of the world.  I travelled on a number of trains between Beijing and St Petersburg travelling through China, Mongolia, Siberia and Russia.  Quite an adventure!!  I then travelled by plane to New York via London and spent about five weeks backpacking in the USA. I've written a bit of a log of that trip: "Around the world in 70 days!"
