Musical Instrument Loans System (MILS) - Now On-Line

The database of musical instrument loans from the School of Instrumental Music (SIM) collection has now been placed on the Department of Education's Central Server. Schools can now access this direct to see the information relevant to their school, and to print out any information required for their own use.

There is no access to information about other schools or stock currently held at SIM. There is no capacity to alter the data or order instruments from SIM through the site. All instrument transactions still need to be processed through Gail Macdonald, the SIM Registrar.

As a result of this change SIM will no longer be mailing hard copies of instrument holdings or issue and return vouchers to schools. However, tax invoices for the instrumental charges will still be mailed to schools as in the past.

As this is a secure application, access is only available to the school registrar and the school principal or his/her delegate. We suggest that the primary music specialist or secondary teacher-in-charge of music might be appropriate principal's delegates.

You can access the system and view your school's data by following these steps:

  2. We suggest that you bookmark this for future quick reference!
  3. To log on, use your Departmental single sign-on, name and the password that you use to access online systems such as HRMIS.
