It's always suprising how ritzy the Burswood Dome looks when the Auto Expo is on in Perth. Some of the displays look like permanent fixtures rather than something that has to be erected and pulled down in a couple of days.

The displays are aimed fairly at the testosterone
driven male sex with lots of bright colours, polished
metal and sexy models of the two legged kind on display. When entering the Dome the first display is that of prestige car dealer Alf Barbargello, which kind of makes the rest of the event a bit of an anti-climax. Exactly how do you top cars like the Aston Martin and Ferrari? As you would expect the organisers of the event have catered to the masses by dedicating the main areas to the volume sellers rather than to cars with the greatest drool factor. Naturally this article features those cars on displaying Mumbo-like characteristics. |
| At $158,000 the BMW M3 is hardly in the bargain
basket but you can't go past the fact that this is one of
the world's best cars. While the pure output figure of 252kW from the 3.2 litre straight six is impressive enough. It's the whole driving experience that gets motoring writers so excited when talking about this car. Click here for a direct link to BMW Australia's M series webpage. |

Mitsubishi had a large display set up dedicated
mainly to the introduction of the AWD Magna. Although
spiced up Lancers so popular these days also received
lots of attention. Click on the above
thumbs for the full sized pic. |
| The Honda Integra was pulling huge amounts of interest. It was impossible to get a clear shot of the car without people inside. Could it be due to those bright red Recaro seats? | ![]() |
