How to paint a 7 years picnic bear
Page 2
After undercoating the minis it's time to start painting in earnest. Being Prussians I used Prussian Blue for the coats. I used Vallejo paints where possible as they are excellent and have very little waste being in an eyedropper bottle

For the facings I used Vallejo's Red-Orange, as I found their Prussian Orange a little too light. For most of the brushwork I use a 2/0 brush, using the small ones for only the delicate stuff

For the fur I used an assortment of browns, as any good teddy bear collection has all sorts of colors. I used Tamiya paints for this, yeah I know I just went on about Vallejo, but like most people I've built up my paint set over many years and am financially adverse to throwing out paints that still work

This picture actually shows several steps. First I painted the waistcoats a cream color, then the straps white, and finally their muskets dark brown. I have avoided painting the hats yet, as I find the minis easier to manipulate by holding them between my thumb and forefinger, on the base and head respectively. Note this can cause problems, find a better way if you can.
