Phillips and the marriage was witnessed by Edward Smith & Ann Church of near Mount Brown. At the time of his wedding John was said to be an 'overseer on sheep station' and residing at North Rhine; died 25 Sep 1905 at Hyde Park, Adelaide, South Australia, at age 77.

Martha SMITH (79) was born on 22 Sep 1847 at Kent. She died on 12 Oct 1932 at Private Hospital, Wakefield Street, Adelaide, South Australia, at age 85. She was buried at West Terrace Cemetery, Adelaide, South Australia. Before she died she was living at 21 Ormond Grove, Toorak Gardens, Adelaide, South Australia.

Laura Evelyn EATON (88) was born on 27 Jan 1882 at Geraldton, Western Australia. She died on 14 Feb 1965 at Geraldton, Western Australia, at age 83.

• ii. Glen Henry (90); born 24 Apr 1904 at Geraldton, Western Australia; married Constance Edna Brookes (114) 13 Oct 1934 at Glenelg, South Australia; died 31 Mar 1988 at Adelaide, South Australia, at age 83.

  Glen left Geraldton for South Australia at age 21 and worked for oil companies in Adelaide and Melbourne and finally for Caltex Oil in Sydney for 40 years. He retired to South Australia.

• iv. Leslie Arthur (92); born 28 Jan 1908 at Geraldton, Western Australia; married Edgarina Pearl Bond (117), daughter of Edgar Thomas Bond (1082) and Mary Ann Bonser (1083), 10 Jun 1931 at Walkaway, Western Australia; died 15 Dec 2000 at Geraldton, Western Australia, at age 92.

  Leslie worked for the Geraldton Harbour Works for 3 years, the family business for 2 years, then took over the Northampton farming property for 19 years. This period included 2 years in the Garrison Battalion 1942 - 44. He entered Parliament in the Legislative Council in April 3rd 1947 as a member of the Country Party. He served 12 years as a Minister holding the portfolios of Local Government, Town Planning and Child Welfare. Leslie retired from Parliament on 21st May 1974 and was awarded the Order of Australia, A.M. in 1980. He mail address is Hon Les A Logan (A.M.), 219 Belgrade Park, Belgrade Road, Wanneroo, Western Australia.

Ellen Lawrence CLARKE (66) was born on 24 Jan 1878 at Nr Oakbank, South Australia. She died on 13 Nov 1950 at Coogee Beach, Western Australia, at age 72. She was buried at Anglican section of Karrakatta Cemetry, Perth, Western Australia. She resided at Coogee Beach, Western Australia, prior to her death.

  He was a Hostel Warden between 1958 and 1963 at St Christopher's Boys Hostel, Northam, Western Australia.

Dr Samuel Reginald PRALL (956) was born on 18 Feb 1891. He died on 2 Jun 1967 at age 76.

Children of Hilda Logan (84) and Dr Samuel Reginald Prall (956) were as follows:

• i. Daughter (957); born before 1920 at Ahnednagan Patsy believed her sister to be older than her for her mother was told not to have any more children after Patsy. The sister must have been born in Ahnednagan in India, and died there. She could have been Patsy's twin. Patsy's parents never spoke of the sister to Patsy. A couple of Patsy's cousins thought that the sister's name was Athalie, but Patsy had a feeling that it wasn't; died before 1921.

William LOGAN (263); born 27 Mar 1832 at Kilbirnie Parish, Ayr; married Isabella Rodger (264) 11 Nov 1858 at South Australia; married Alice Charlotte Allen (266), daughter of John Henry Allen (270) and unknown (--?--) (271), 7 Feb 1868 at Congregational Church, Bagots Well, South Australia; died 12 Sep 1925 at Wilson, South Australia, at age 93.

From a paper cutting at the time of William Logan's death it stated that he came out to Australia at the age of 21 years and in Melbourne worked at his trade as a carpenter for two years. He then took up land at Bagot's Well and farmed for some years. When the northern areas were opened up he took up land in the Hundred of Narridy. The block where he lived is only a couple of miles from where Max and Natalie Logan lived, and it was named 'Shadey Bower'. William Logan did the carpentering in the Huddleston School which opened in 1880. In a photo album that belonged to William Logan is a photo of John Logan and his wife Martha. The William Logan history provided for 'Hawker, Hub of the Flinders', says, - William Logan was born at Kilburnie Scotland in 1832, arrived aged 21 and settled first at Truro and later at Huddleston. Finally, when 61, he took up a farm near Wilson in 1893 where he died in 1925 in his 94th year. He named his farm (west of the town) 'The Dell'. Later he moved to another in the area naming it 'Glen Ness'. He was an able carpenter and some of his cupboards are still in use today. William loved poetry and often read the works of Shakespeare, Tennyson, and Wordsworth.

12. Violet LOGAN (265) (William); born 10 Nov 1859 at Bagots Well, South Australia; married John McNeil (349) 19 Jul 1888.

The family lived in Wilson, Murray Town and Laura Districts before moving to Huddleston in 1912 when Robert bought some land from his uncle James McNeil. John, Violet and daughters Violet and Stella moved to St Peters in 1925.

John MCNEIL (349) was born circa 1859.

• i. Robert Melrose (350); born 29 Jun 1889; married Dorothy Conway (354) 1926; died 3 Jun 1974 at age 84.

  Robert Melrose McNeil (350) recieved a letter from James Houston JP, FRIBA, FSA Scot. D.Arch., FRIA Scot. (1821) dated in Jun 1950 Containing information about a Robert Logan who was said to be a brother to William Logan. Much of this information has now proven to be incorrect.

• ii. Jessie Logan (351); born 3 Mar 1891; married John Smith (355) 30 Aug 1923; died 6 Nov 1990 at age 99.

• iii. Violet Irene (352); born 19 Apr 1893; died 4 Oct 1982 at age 89.

• iv. Stella Jean (353); born 20 May 1895; died Aug 1966 at age 71.

She and Oliver Crossman (360) resided near Craddock and later moved to the Clare Area.

Oliver CROSSMAN (360) was born on 22 Oct 1866 at Saddleworth, South Australia. He died on 13 Dec 1945 at Clare, South Australia, at age 79.

Frances Eva PATTERSON (361) was born on 3 Aug 1882. She died on 19 Feb 1962 at North Quorn, South Australia, at age 79.

Children of Stanley Robert Logan (269) and Frances Eva Patterson (361) were as follows:

• i. Stanley Maxwell (362); born 12 Mar 1909; married Natalie Edith Fisher (368) 18 Mar 1948; died 10 Dec 1993 at age 84.

  Max lived his early years in Wilson but attended the Huddleston school for a short time in 1917 when the Wilson school closed. In 1946 Max went to share farm with his cousin Robert McNeil in Huddleston arriving, so he claimed, with only a tin trunk and a saddle.

  After Max and Natalie married in 1948, they made their home for several years in the Huddleston school building which had closed in 1945, as no other houses were available at the time.

• ii. Alice Jean (363); born 18 May 1910; married Richard William Lines (385) 1938; married Hurtle James Pedler (386) 1967; died 21 Sep 1981 at age 71.

15. Janet LOGAN (334); born 10 Sep 1820; married James Miller (343) 23 Mar 1849 at Beith Parish, Ayr; died 31 Jan 1908 at age 87; buried at Truro Cemetery, Turo, South Australia.

She came to Australia possibly in 1850/1.

James MILLER (343) was born in 1819. He died on 2 Jan 1888 at Truro, South Australia. He was buried at Truro Cemetery, Turo, South Australia. He & Janet Miller lived in Keyneton Angaston way South Australia. Possibility that they lived in Truro later in life. James was a J.P. (noted on his head stone).

16. James (JIM) MILLER (646) (Janet Logan); christened 24 Jun 1849 at Beith Parish, Ayr; married Marion Paterson (649) circa 1870; died 14 Jul 1927 at age 78; buried at West Terrace Cemetery, Adelaide, South Australia.

He came to Australia when 18 mths.

Marion PATERSON (649) was born circa 1850. She came from at Nuriootpa, South Australia.
