QuikPlot
is particularly at home in an underground mining environment,
although it can be used on any project. The project is split up
into elements. For an underground operation this may be by particular
levels. For a surface mine, it may be split by such things as
roads, buildings, services etc..
|
When
using Quikplot simply choose the Project Name. There may be multiple
projects on the one database. Let us go through the steps on our
underground project.
|
 |
1. Select the Elements to plot. In our underground project these
elements may be level number (or name). We will select the 245 Level
and 245 Decline. We will also select the 235 Level. You can control
linetype and pen numbers for any elements. So we will set the 235
Level to DASHED line and make it PEN 5.
|
2. Now
select the features to plot for each level. This is done by turning
check boxes on or off. You can plot any number of available features
quickly and easily. Unique features can be set up for your project.
Again in the underground project, your features may be Survey Stns,
Floor RLs, Design, Geology, Ventilation. We will turn on the Survey
Stns, and DESIGN for Level 245.

|
3. We have now chosen what we want to plot above, so now we
select the Plot Parameters. The next dialog box is like the Surpac
Present Plot Parameters window, but with some major innovations.
You can load the files into a graphic box and drag the page around
the window so that you can position the plot where you want it in
relation to the whole project. You can dynamically change the scale,
page size and orientation (any orientation), and still drag the
box to cover the area you wish to plot. |
4. Plot using Surpac button. This command button will create
a macro with the in-built data. Surpac will start, run the macro,
and stop at the Surpac preview plot window. The plotter ?.lf file
will already have been written. Our plot will show the level below
as a dashed line and different color. Survey stations will be plotted
on the upper level. Couldn't be easier!
