Build methods, errors and fixes....

These I consider a
must for the beveling process. 1. Garden vacuum,
2. Cartridge style filter mask, 3. Ear muffs, 4. Safety glasses, 5.
Protractor, 6. Electric power file or sanding disk. 7. Steel angle iron, 2
lengths. |
Angle setting
template, 0.05” and 0.1”, but mine went a bit larger to get the
result. |
|
One edge to the
bottom angle iron, the other to the top angle iron, the result is the 6 or 12
degree. The steel angle
will last a bit longer with the powerfile
than aluminium.
|
H1 glassed into position. |
|
45 degree bias cut glass cloth ready for use. |
Foam fillet used. |
|
Full length foam
fillet on rear also. This may be
questionable to some. |
What a
joint!!! Make sure the base panel
and supporting worktop is laying absolutely flat. Mine was not and it
appeared I had an error in my bevels. All was correct
when the worktop was straightened out. |
|
Method to support
side panels. Measure from top of
beam above G clamp to check 10.5 height. |
I made my inside
panel joints flush, minimal filler required. Outer join line was
planed off, then filled and sanded smooth. |
