CHANNEL 7 Telethon child Natasha Haederle lost her battle with cancer yesterday morning. Natasha, 9, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, cancer of the nerve tissue, when she was three years old. She had been in remission for the past two years and was featured as the face of Telethon 2002 before doctors discovered just before Christmas that her cancer had returned. Natasha, from Wembley Downs, played a vital role in helping to raise money through Telethon for the cost of running a Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine at Princess Margaret Hospital. As a cancer patient, Natasha had several MRI scans for doctors to track her disease. The hospital's new MRI machine, to be installed later this year, will benefit thousands of children like Natasha.
