Beware the Jabberwock my son, the jaws that bite, the claws that

A Lament For Aidan
Lament not that I am gone.
Lament not the tears you've shorn.
Lament not the crashing pain,
the fear, the ache, a love far gone.
Yell and scream that I was here,
my laugh, my life that you held dear.
A twinkling eye, a beaming smile
Behold the simple fact I'm still near.

Trish and I prepared nearly 200 little cakes for the little people
in Aidan's room and the surrounding rooms. 'twas to be an early birthday
celebration for our fallen hero. Caitlin was most stoic and was charged
with handing out cakes to the many little people in her new room.
I do believe the party-ette was a stirling success. At the very
least it kept a lot of little legs stationery for a period of time. Liam
and Evan were most keen on visiting "Thomson's" room, not only to see "Thomson",
but also to play with the computers and scribble with crayons.
I think Aidan would have been proud of his little sister on this
day. I know we were.

One day becomes a week. A week becomes a month, then three.
We headed into the far north in the morning to call upon our little
man for his birthday and were joined by Gandma, Aunty Gerry, Nanna, Grandad,
Gran and Big James, of course. We returned home for cake, without which
a birthday just isn't.
Superheroes are special. Aidan was a special superhero.
We miss you Bobo.

Four months without Bobo were obscured by Caitlin's
birthday party. We escorted a handful of her chums to an indoor playground
so they could run themselves silly and be somewhat more manageable for
the food feast afterwards. It mostly worked. The skies opened on our return
trip from the playground with pelting rain and hail. Quite the homecoming.
The cake was big and pink and it had an air of majesty about it for
it was a castle. Just the thing for a fairy queen.

The twins had their first "real" haircut for some
time. They tend to wriggle a bit, you see.
Lo and behold, we had two little Aidan's running around again.
Quite amazing.
We miss you Bobo. Not a day goes by when we don't miss your smile.
