I don't remember where I first heard of them but I think it was from a heavy metal web site. The first song I heard from them was probably Teargas. That song, is a classic. So I decided to buy this album. I was going to buy COF - Damnation and a Day, but my choice was Katatonia - Viva Emptiness instead. And it was a good choice, for the most part.
Highlights of this album are...well basically all the songs w/ the 'hot' symbol. But some may beg to differ...
Ghost of the sun is a great opener. Since I haven't really had a good chance to listen to their previous 'works' (teargas being 'one' work!), I really couldn't give a proper verdict to what they 'should' or 'did' sound like!
I highly recommend listening to the 'hot' songs before making your judgement.
My favourite song on this album is probably 'Evidence'. This song has a 'heavy' nature, yet has some calm to it. The song's ending, is probably one of the most memorable parts from the bunch.
