After hearing 'Rose of Sharyn' on the roadrunner website, I was immediately hooked with this album. Again, I never heard of them before so I tried listening to their previous works. Unfortunately, I didn't like them so I decided to take a stab at this album. And yes, I do like it...but not at first.
After hearing the album for the first time, I really didn't care much for the songs. The only song I really liked was the above-mentioned 'Rose of Sharyn'. After hearing it again and again, a lot of the songs began to grow on me!
Then one thing then hit me. The first song 'A Bid Farewell'...I couldn't believe how cool this song was. It was the first track off the album yet I didn't like it straight away. WHAT WAS I THINKING?! This truly is a great song. A great opener and a great introduction to this album which stars a new addition, Howard Jones, after the previous vocalist left. I have no idea if it's a blessing or a curse!
'Take This Oath' and 'When Darkness Falls' are another set of cool songs that will grab anyone's attention, although not at first.
Then there's the few selected songs that some may find worth listening to, which may include 'Breathe Life', the album-titled song, 'World Ablaze' and even the last track, 'Hope Is...'. There's a song here for everyone!

Although this album initially has only a few good hits on it, I suggest you take some time listening to some of the other songs before making your judgement! |

Although this album sounds different with the addition of Howard Jones, I much prefer this album then the rest. Add it to your collection! |
