The first song I ever heard was 'Seether'. A classic song, btw!
One of the first video clips I ever saw was 'Shutterbug'. I must've seen that clip 20+ times. Now I know why my old VCR is not like it used to be!
Veruca Salt, if you must know is the name of a character, a very obnoxious and spoilt brat from the movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory".
Anyways after two albums and numerous singles, the band including vocal singers 'Louise Post' and 'Nina Gordon' eventually split after releasing 'Eight Arms To Hold You'.
It was quite sad but things have to move on. Louise Post continued Veruca Salt and released 'Resolver' while Nina Gordon went solo. Both women are HOT btw .)
As way of all things, the music they created, the style and melodies they envisioned, will be classic history for years to come.
'Straight' is your typical Veruca Salt opener. Well, actually I haven't really heard their previous albums so what I say could be bullshit.
What follows is one of their most popular songs, 'Volcano Girls' and one mad music clip to match. Jumping up in the air, w/ what seems like bungee rope attachments looks both fun and weird. This single must've sold a lot of copies. Seriously!
Talking about weird clips, if you're a big fan of Veruca Salt or even if you're not, you have to see the video clip to 'Shutterbug'. Nothing gets more weirder. But the song is great. This song actually made me want to buy the album, as a matter of fact.
The other songs 'Awesome', 'Don't Make Me Prove It', 'One Last Time' and 'Sound Of The Bell' are worth listening to as well. If you like mellow songs, take a stab at "The Morning Sad" and "Loneliness Is Worse". The ending to 'Loneliness Is Worse' rocks btw.

I suggest anyone who's curious from only hearing 'Volcano Girls' or 'Seether' or even their previous albums to take a listen. Definitely a 50/50 buy. |
