Welcome to the Western Australian Uilleann Piper's Club Home Page.

The Pipers' Club is an informal gathering once a month of uilleann pipers in Perth. It came about as a realisation of the fact that we seem to have the largest concentration of uilleann pipers in the southern hemisphere - at our first meeting we had 16 people turn up with pipes. Most of the group have had their sets for less than five years. For those interested in uilleann pipes, the members own sets from a wide selection of makers. There are sets from Geoff Wooff (who started making pipes in Perth in the 1970s and who is now living in Ireland and regarded by many as the finest pipemaker alive today), Ian McKenzie, Adrian Jeffries, Cillian O'Briain, Alan Ginsberg, Michael Vignolles and others. The Club meets once a month in the homes of its various active members - we can usually depend on 4 to 6 pipers to turn up so it's always an interesting night.

DID YOU KNOW - that the Founder of the Cork Pipers' Club in 1898 (the first club of its type in the world), John Wayland (pictured above), migrated to WA in 1912?
