about this siteThis is the 4th major update of our website which first went live in 2000. We use Microsoft FrontPage 2000 to create the pages and layouts and quite a few tools from the Lycos htmlGear site to manage links and surveys and the like - why should we try and re-invent the wheel when there are hundreds, possibly thousands, of perfectly good wheels to be had for free. Our site is hosted on the iiNet DSL internet service, our domain name registrar is Domain Bank and the www.bainsworld.com domain is redirected there by our DNS service provider, ZoneEdit. The classic photo album pages were produced using Catalog Wizard and images were sized and compressed in batch using IrfanView. Our current photos are hosted on the Webshots photo site. The family tree pages were produced from Wazza's family history database maintained in Generations from Sierra.
