Obedience
Training for Westies is the same as for any puppy except: Although Westies are quick to learn, training a Westie requires patience, persistence, time and above all, firmness. It has to be clear from the outset what the dog may and may not do, and all the members of the family have to enforce the same rules. Everyone in the family needs to agree to use the same words when giving the dog commands or praising and scolding it. Don't forget - the Westie is extremely stubborn. Once it has succeeded in getting its way, it will try to do so repeatedly. That is why you can't let bad behaviour, such a sbegging for food at the table, even begin.
