Class Guidelines

  1. Dogs must be at least 12 weeks old for training and have presented a current up to date vaccination certificate.
  2. Intermediate dogs need to have completed a Beginners/Foundations class with ACWA or another recognised/affiliated training club.
  3. Senior dogs are classified as dogs who are trialling at the EXCELLENT level under ANKC rules.

  5. In order to gain maximum benefit from training, your dog must be in the correct class. Placing a dog in a class above the dog's level leads to frustration for the dog, handler and fellow classmates and promotes poor agility habits.

CLASS LEVEL TIME OF CLASS
1. Foundations Puppy Class (for dogs 3 to 12 months of age)
Set Up: 6.30pm
Start: 7.00 PM to 8.00pm
2. Foundations Class (for dogs over 12 months who have completed the Puppy Class)
Set Up: 6.30pm
Start: 7.00 PM to 8.00pm
3. Beginners Class (for dogs who have completed the Foundations class, are competent performers of each piece of equipment - this is where they start to sequence between 3 and 5 obstacles)
Set Up: 6.30pm
Start: 7.00 PM to 8.00pm
4. Intermediate Class (for dogs 18months or over who have started or are about to start trialling in Novice)
Set Up: 7pm
Start: 7.30 PM to 9.00pm
5. Seniors Class for dogs who are competing at the EXCELLENT level in ANKC Agility..
Set Up: 7pm
Start: 7.30 PM to 9.00pm

Training Philosophy

The ACWA Training philosophy emphasizes positive training techniques with your dog. The sport of agility is meant to be enjoyed by both the dog and handler. A flat buckle collar is ESSENTIAL for training.

ACWA is a CAWA (Canine Association of WA) Affiliated and ANKC Affiliated club (Australian National Kennel Council) club and training stresses ANKC rules. All ACWA Show n Go's, Mock Trials, Members Competitions, and Trials are CAWA sanctioned shows.
