The US's plan for Venezuela.

Back to thelosers "the world" index
It has started ... here is military skirmishing on the borders around Columbia, the US's ally.

The US seriously disaproves of things that are happening in Venezuela. Their concerns have been well publicised. The available knowledge of these concerns can give us insight into the real concerns of the US. Do we hear the other side of the argument? Do we hear anything from Venezuela? Can we? Why would this be? Is there some influence on what news we hear and see?

Venezuela has large oil reserves, like Iraq. Iran has oil ... and we know what the US thinks of them. Do you think foriegn oil reserves aren't important to the US? Think on how important oil is to the US. Modern western civilisations would grind to a halt then decend into chaos without oil.

The US media has always been informing us of the need for the US to be there to rebuild Iraq. Do you remember the early starting up of the Oil for Food program? How much rebuilding is happening in Iraq. Find out about what it's like to live there. What could be the real reason for the US to have an occupying army in Iraq?

Iraq was supposed to have weapons of mass destruction, then after they couldn't be found the US fell back to Saddam Hussein's regime and to more general considerations of the war on terror. Iran has a quite an oppressive dictator. The Bush regime tells the world that they are also starting a nuclear weapons industry. The UN, as with Iraq has looked into this and found their nuclear industry to be peaceful. The US has done some naval exercises near Iran as well as some forceful diplomacy and still pushes the nuclear weapons story. Iran also has oil.

If Columbia has military troubles with it's neighbours then the US will have to come to their rescue. What have you heard about Venezuela? Have you heard that it is a benighn country or an agressive one? They have no nuclear potential. Do they have an opressive dictator?

Do they have large oil reserves?

Well, I have strong opinions as to how terrible Venezuela's dictator is, but I'm not too fussed about that. The record of the Bush regime, and especially the record of the US's foreign policy and military interventions, combined with Venezuela's oil reserves says a hell of a lot about the real interests of the US ... and things have already started to happen that are required for the US to intervene militarily and forcefully control Venezuela ... and with the required media stories to keep the rest of the world satisfied that the right thing is being done.
