Haze has released MAME 0.89u1. I've subtitled it the "suck your bandwidth" release since a 89u1 rom/chd update weighs in at around a gigabyte. There is lots of Sega action in this release, read the whatsnew.txt for all the news.
In 89u1 a new CHD kdeadeye.chd (Konami's Dead Eye) comes to MAME. It's been added as a nonworking game to the GV driver by R. Belmont - there are CDRom emulation issues.
There are now 65 CHD games in MAME made up of 50 CHD's and 15 clones. There are 9 sooners that haven't yet been added to MAME.
I've updated the Infos: CHD, Baddumps, Nodumps, BIOS's. The Baddump + Nodump total is 190 + 185 = 375, baddumps up a whopping by 36 (mainly due to vs2v991) and nodumps unchanged from MAME 0.89. See Tim's Emulation Page.
Mosey over to the Official MAME site to get MAME 0.89. Subtitled, "Turbo Outrun" see if you can guess what's new :-) If not, then read the whatsnew.txt to get the lowdown.
Nicola has chipped in with a big Namco System 1 update, removing several hacks and adding a new tilemap function not to mention several other improvements. The implementation involved disabling two ASM optimised routines. The ASM core is becoming more and more defunct with every release.
I've updated the Infos: CHD, Baddumps, Nodumps, BIOS's. The Baddump + Nodump total is 154 + 185 = 339, no change to baddumps and nodumps down by 1 from MAME 0.88u7. See Tim's Emulation Page.
A November update over at The Cunningham Project Site.
I've rerun my program to generate an updated set of Cunningham tables in my favourite format.
Haze has released MAME 0.88u7. Wow! Sega System Pre16, 16a, 16b, 18 drivers improve to the point that the MAME Dev's are accepting bug reports to MAME Testers for games running on segas16a.c, segas16b.c, segas18.c. Check out the whatsnew.txt for all the news.
There's been movement all 3 arenas - roms, chd's and samples have changed this time around.
In 88u7 the MAME Dev's have snuck in a tricky CHD change for bmcompm2/hmcompm2. Basically, the parent bmcompm2 for hmcompm2 has shown up, establishing a parent/clone releationship between the two. Updating amounts to:
- Renaming hmcompm2 folder to bmcompm2 (containing 988jaa11.chd)
- Patching 988jaa11.chd. Petr1fied has generously supplied a patch at his CHD Updates page.
There are now 64 CHD games in MAME made up of 49 CHD's and 15 clones. There are 9 sooners waiting patiently on the shelf.
I've updated the Infos: CHD, Baddumps, Nodumps, BIOS's. The Baddump + Nodump total is 154 + 186 = 340, baddumps up by 2 and nodumps up by 1 from MAME 0.88u6. See Tim's Emulation Page.

I've updated the Infos: CHD, Baddumps, Nodumps, BIOS's. The Baddump + Nodump total is 152 + 187 = 339, baddumps down by 2 and nodumps up by 2 from MAME 0.88u4. See Tim's Emulation Page.
Haze has released MAME 0.88u4. There are fixes and enhancements to the debugger, the FD1094 emulation is coming along nicely and there's a large discrete sound update. See whatsnew.txt for details.
MAME 88u4 introduces a new BIOS resource, Exidy's Max-A-Flex (maxaflex.zip). There are now 23 BIOS's in MAME.

Haze has released MAME 0.88u3. The big news is that Aaron's long awaited debugger has come to MAME. It is still in its infancy and requires plenty of testing. Haze has urged people to provide feedback in the Official MAME Forums.
I've updated the Infos: CHD, Baddumps, Nodumps, BIOS's. The Baddump + Nodump total is 153 + 185 = 338, baddumps down by 2 and nodumps up by 5 from MAME 0.88u2. See Tim's Emulation Page.
Old news I know. You blink and you miss it these days. A couple of weeks back this modest sooner surfaced. This dump of ddr.chd is for Dance Dance Revolution, 1998. This is the first in a very popular game series and as such it probably won't make it into MAME for some time. Thanks to Anton Belenki for clueing me in.
With the ddr.chd sooner added there are 63 CHD games in MAME made up of 49 CHD's. There are 9 sooners waiting on the shelf.
I've updated the CHDInfo page. See Tim's Emulation Page.
