24. Site 3
- Entering the freight loader in Freight Cart Terminal is a one way trip.
- Clicking to exit Site 3 and transferring to Caverns-Area 1 is a one way
trip.
- There's an Emergency Medical Station (1) with 100 Health on the left wall.
- Notice the blood oozing down the right wall - hmm!
- Move forward and a Hellknight (1) bursts from a hole in the floor at the
end of the hall. An Imp (1) and 2 Wraiths (1-2) teleport in.
- You can get a glimpse outside the site through high windows on the left.
- Where the hellknight emerged you get assigned the objective
Site3 Security Lockdown.
- The security door on the right requires Pierce Rogers' PDA - you'll get
it later.
- Open the left door to Site3 Hub.
- Kill the Imp (2) that teleports beside you and the 2 Cacodemons (1-2)
further in the room - be careful of the exploding barrels.
- You can't get into the small room to the right of the door - there's
nothing there anyway.
- Go around the corner and trigger a Hellknight (2). To avoid barrel damage
it is best to escort the hellknight back to the previous room to kill him.
An Imp (3) teleports in to join the fun.
- Find 1 Combat Armour (1) behind 2 barrels.
- Collect 2 Small Shells (1-2), 1 Large Clips (1) and 1 Ammo Belt (1) on and
by nearby shelves.
- Find 1 Large Clips (2) and 2 Small Plasma Cells (1-2) on another set of
shelves.
- Find an Emergency Medical Station (2) with 100 Health on the wall
- The security door opposite requires Pierce Rogers' PDA.
- Head through the door marked "Garage" to Freight Terminal Access.
- Take the next door to Freight Cart Terminal.
- Move forward and trigger 1 Cacodemon (3), 1 Maggot (1), 2 Wraiths (3-4)
and 1 Imp (4) behind you.
- To your left on the wall is an Emergency Medical Station (3) with 75
Health.
- In front of you is a mechanical device that repeatedly slams into the
wall. There's a freight cart track that extends to the left. Later in
the level you will board a freight cart here.
- Head down the stairs and trigger a Hellknight (3).
- On the back rack collect 5 Small Plasma Cells (3-7) and 1 Combat Armour
(2) on the floor.
- On the back shelves are 1 Large Shells (1) and 1 Ammo Belt (2).
- Open the door on the right to Artifact Receiving.
- Hear banging. Climb the stairs. Hear Betruger's evil laugh as the room is
transformed into a hell chamber with candles. The door behind you becomes
disabled - but you will be able to get back there another way.
- Kill the Archvile (1) and 1 Imp (5) - be quick or more enemies will spawn.
- Find 1 Large Health (1) by some burning boexes and 4 Armour Shards (1-4)
by the steps up to the next door.
- Climb the stairs. Notice the sign to the right of the door "Labcoats
needed".
- Open the door to Lab Section1.
- Kill the Revenant (1) up on the catwalk and the Maggot (2) below.
- To the left at the door is an Emergency Medical Station (4) with 75
Health.
- Down the stairs is 1 Ammo Belt (3) and 1 Small Clips (1).
- Head up the stairs and take the next door to Lab Section2 [1].
- Kill the Wraith (5) that awaits.
- Climb down the ladder.
- Kill the Imp (6) and Maggot (3) that spawn when you enter the larger
room.
- Walk around and up the stairs toward the large screen.
- To the right on shelves is 2 Small Shells (3-4), 1 Large Health (2) and 1
Ammo Belt (4).
- Collect Richard S. Davis, Ph.D's PDA (1) below
the large screen. It contains 3 Emails (1-3) and 1 Audio Log (1).
- Follow the pathway along the railing, triggering an Imp (7) in front of
you and another Imp (8) behind near the large screen.
- Open the door to Lab Section2 [2].
- Walk down the passage and trigger a Revenant (2) around the corner to the
right and a Maggot (4) from the previous room
- At the intersection trigger 2 Imps (9-10) down to the left and 1 Imp (11)
around the corner to the right.
- The path to the right leads to a security door that requires Pierce
Rogers' PDA.
- Go left and collect 2 Small Health (1-2) and 1 Combat Armour (3) by a
ladder at the end.
- The steps lead down to a security door that requires Pierce Roger's PDA.
You'll be coming through that door from the other side in due course.
- Climb the ladder and follow the narrow path.
- Drop down a hole at the end into Artifact Research - this is not a one way
trip as you can repeat this again later.
- The security door nearby is the other side of the one you saw recently in
Lab Section2 [2] - you will be leaving by it shortly.
- Move into the room and down the stairs and trigger 1 Hellknight (4) and 2
Maggots (5-6).
- Up the stairs behind a box is 1 Grenades (1) and 1 Combat Armour (4).
- There are 4 tablets on display. You can hear a video disk playing,
speaking about the tablets. You can't get that video disk this level but
you will find it in
Caverns-Area 2: Levitation Site.
- Open the door to the inner office.
- Meet and speak to Pierce Rogers. He's discovered many interesting
things about the Soul Cube and that humans may be descendents from Mars.
- Collect Pierce M. Rogers, Ph.D's PDA (2) on the
desk. It contains 3 Emails (4-6) and 1 Audio Log (2). With his PDA you can
visit every room in Site 3 now.
- This completes the objective
Site3 Security Lockdown.
- Collect the Video Disk (1) titled
Ancient Civilization on a computer
console.
- There's an Emergency Medical Station (5) with 75 Health on the wall.
- Find 3 Small Plasma Cells (8-10) and 1 Ammo Belt (5) on shelves.
- If you kill Pierce Rogers, an Archvile (2) will immediately spawn outside.
The advantage is that Pierce Rogers won't lock the door when you leave so
you could go back to the office later if required.
- When you step back out of the office you get assigned a new objective
Freighter Control Room.
- Move toward the exit door, triggering 5 Maggots (7-11) and 1 Imp (12).
- Unlock the security door and enter Lab Section2.
- Move to the intersection and trigger a Revenant (3) to the left.
- If you retrace your steps to the right, you would meet a Wraith (6) in
Lab Section1 and then get blocked at the disabled door in Artifact
Receiving.
- Instead go left and unlock the security door to Site3 Entrance Hall.
- Immediately open the next door to Site3 Hub.
- Kill the Imp (13) that teleports and a Revenant (4).
- Unlock the security door to Elevator Access.
- Kill a Maggot (12) that attacks from straight ahead.
- Kill an Imp (14) bound in the evil weed high up to the left. That is
actually and exit point you will come through at the end of this
section.
- Take the ladder on the right down to a dark room with a shelf containing
1 Large Shells (2), 1 Combat Armour (5) and 1 Ammo Belt (6).
- Climb back up and summon the lift.
- Enter Site3 Area.
- Click 2-Maintenance.
- Open the doors and exit to Maintenance2 Access.
- Kill the Wraith (7) to the left and the Maggot (13) to the right.
- There are 6 Armour Shards (5-10) in the left corner.
- Look out of the window and see the freight track - you'll travel that
track later.
- Open the next door to Maintenance2.
- Follow the evil weed covered path and drop into a metal corridor - this
is not a one way trip because you can cycle back here again later if you
like.
- Kill the Revenant (5) who comes through the door on the left and the Imp
(15) around the corner to the right.
- Enter the left door to Maintenance2 Closet - see below.
- Climb the stairs and head toward a lava pit and trigger a Cacodemon (4).
- Open the next door to trigger a Cacodemon (5) to your right and an Imp
(16) in the next room.
- Enter the next room Freight Control Access - see below.
- Collect 3 Small Plasma Cells (11-13) and 1 Large Health (3).
- Exit back to Maintenance2 - see above
- Take out the Imp (17) around to the left.
- Find 1 Small Shells (5), 1 Combat Armour (6) and 1 Large Clips (3) on
shelves.
- At the end of the room on a rack is 1 BFG 9000 (1), 1 BFG Cells (1) and
3 Small Plasma Cells (14-16).
- Open the door to Freight Control Tower.
- Climb down the ladder and approach the Freight Loader Access. Read "Safety
warning. Secure all cargo firmly before proceeding with freight
transfers".
- Click "Unlock Site3 freight loader". Hear "Caverns entrance unlocked,
freight loader returning to station". Read "In transit", then "Access
control transferred to freight loader".
- If you look down through the window you will see a yellow freight loader
move along the track from left to right.
- Get assigned a new objective Caverns Entrance.
- Climb the ladder and complete the objective
Freighter Control Room.
- Head back the way you came to the lava pit in Maintenance2.
- Near the lava pit 2 Cacodemons (6-7) spawn.
- When you take the stairs down, an steam explosion dislodges several metal
floor panels opening up a new path.
- Drop down and climb down the ladder on the wall into Maintenance2 Lower.
- Follow the dark path triggering 1 Maggot (14), 1 Imp (18) behind and 1
Wraith (8).
- Find 1 Small Health (3) in the right alcove.
- Enter the small evil weed tunnel and follow it to the end.
- Exit out by dropping down into Elevator Access and then make your way back
to Freight Cart Terminal.
- The yellow freight loader has arrived. Time for a short ride.
- Walk around and enter the freight loader - this is a one way trip.
- Click "Transfer freight loader" and travel through Site3 Area to the Pit
Elevator.
- Exit the freight loader. This completes the objective
Caverns Entrance.
- Head toward the elevator.
- Around the back of the elevator find 3 Small Clips (2-4), 2 Small Plasma
Cells (17-18), 1 Small Health (4) and 1 Combat Armour (7).
- Enter the elevator.
- Click to exit Site 3 and transfer to Caverns-Area 1.
- This completes the mission Find The Hell Gate.
