26. Caverns-Area 2
- Clicking to exit Caverns-Area 2 and transferring to Primary Excavation
Site is a one way trip.
- Read the Intro: Caverns-Area 2 as the level loads.
- You still have the mission
Destroy The Hell Gate.
- Enjoy the elevator ride down.
- Step out and collect 2 Small Health (1-2) on a crate.
- When you go around the corner an Archvile (1) appears and 2 Hellknights
(1-2) teleport in. It's a tough battle in a tight place, use your best
weapons.
- Collect 3 Armour Shards (1-3) by a door you can't yet access since you
don't have the access card - you'll be back later.
- Open the other door out of the room to Main Dig Junction.
- Follow the path as rocks fall and strange animal noises echo.
- Trigger 6 Wraiths (1-6) as you near some crates and mining equipment.
- Find 1 Large Health (1) to the right by a crate.
- Find 2 Small Plasma Cells (1-2) and 5 Armour Shards (4-8) on the floor.
- Keep walking until you come out to Main Excavation.
- Do a right wall hug at the entrance around to some scaffolding.
- Find 1 Combat Armour (1) down the slope.
- Jump on the scaffolding and drop down to collect 1 Large Plasma Cells
(1), 1 Ammo Belt (1), 1 Small Clips (1), 1 Small Rockets (1) and 1 Small
Shells (1).
- Climb back up and return to the cave entrance.
- Walk down toward the lights at the bottom.
- You can climb the scaffolding in the corner and find 1 Grenades (1) and
2 Small Health (3-4) on the top ledge.
- Climb onto the lower ledge and jump, duck into a section to collect 6
Armour Shards (9-14) on a crate.
- Approach a table and collect the Storage Room 11 Key.
- Also on the table is 1 Adrenaline (1), 2 Armour Shards (15-16) and 1 Small
Health (5).
- Find 1 Armour Shard (17) on the ground.
- Locate your 1st Power Generator. This one is a trap. If you click it then
2 Hellknights (3-4) and 3 Cacodemons (1-3) will attack. You don't seem to
get any recompense for the pain.
- Before proceeding into the next section, backtrack to Sub Station 3. You
will trigger an Imp (1) and 2 Wraiths (7-8) on the way back - see below.
- Now enter the large doorway in front of you and trigger an Archvile (2)
in front and 2 Imps (2-3) behind.
- On the left is your 2nd Power Generator. Click it to light up the dark
passage you are about to follow.
- Walk forward into Chamber Junction 1 - see below.
- Scan your Storage Room 11 Key and enter Station 3 Storage.
- Find an Emergency Medical Station (1) with 74 Health on the right wall.
- The back left shelves contains 2 Ammo Belts (2-3), 3 Small Shells (2-4), 2
Small Plasma Cells (3-4) and 1 Grenades (2).
- The right back shelf contains 1 BFG Cells (1), 5 Large Clips (1-5), 6
Armour Shards (18-23) and 1 Large Rockets (1).
- Open the door back to Sub Station 3 and kill 12 Trites (1-12) that try to
ambush you.
- Return to Main Excavation, along the way you will trigger 5 Trites (13-17)
and 1 Cacodemon (4) in Main Dig Junction - see above.
- Kill 6 Trites (18-23) that attack at the corner.
- Notice the strange writing on the wall.
- To the right on a crate is 1 Machine Gun (1) and 1 Small Clips (2).
- Climb the scaffolding and collect 6 Armour Shards (24-29).
- Go left past a light and around the corner and see 4 stones fall from the
ceiling.
- Go down the stairs, beneath the evil growth on the ceiling as more rubble
falls.
- Go around to the left and into the Levitation Site.
- Notice 4 egglike containers in front of you, the front left on is half
buried. They seem to be eye candy only.
- Move into the room and 3 Imps (4-6) and 3 Wraiths (9-11) spawn.
- Approach the two makeshift desks on the right.
- The right desk contains the Video Disk (1) titled
Tablets. You first
heard this video disk back in Site 3: Artifact Research.
- The left desk contains 1 Small Shells (5), 2 Large Clips (6-7) and 1
Combat Armour (2).
- The left desk also has Video Disk (2) titled
Ancient Civilization. You should have
already collected this video disk back in Site 3.
- Notice the disabled emergency medical station lying on its side. A thick
cable extends from it into the the next hallway.
- Head through the next doorway to Chamber Junction 2.
- Follow the path around into the Room Of The Stars.
- A Hellknight (5) breaks through a wall on a ledge above and jumps down to
greet you.
- Then 8 Trites (24-31) appear then 2 Imps (7-8) attack, one from the left
ledge and the other from the right.
- Betruger says "Destroy him" and another Hellknight (6) appears.
- On the left side of the room is the 3rd Power Generator. Turning it on
enables the Emergency Medical Station (2) with 100 Health back in the
Levitation Site.
- Find 2 Armour Shards (30-31) along the left wall, triggering an Imp (9)
when you collect them.
- On the right side is an Ammo Belt (4). Nearby is a trigger point for a
Hellknight (7).
- Enter the open doorway to Chamber Junction 3.
- In the hallway notice the Vagary thorned projectile, giving you a warning
of what to expect in the next room.
- Enter The Gallery.
- You are attacked by 2 Vagary (1-2) from the other side of the room and 5
Trites (32-36) from the walls.
- I recommend a fully charged BFG blast in the face for one Vagary and
a Soul Cube to finish the other. Be quick so they don't have time to hit
you with their telekinesis skills.
- Find 1 Small Rockets (2) on the left side of the room.
- Climb the scaffolding for 1 Small Clips (3).
- On the right side of the room find 1 Large Health (2).
- Climb the stairs toward the ornate door.
- Find 1 BFG Cells (2) to the right in the corner.
- Open the next door to Excavation Transfer Lift.
- To the left find a 4th Power Generator, turn it on to light the room.
- Find 1 Large Rockets (2) and 1 Large Plasma Cells (2) near a crate at the
back of the room.
- To the right find 3 Machine Guns (2-4).
- If you go back through the level to fetch goodies you will probably
trigger 2 Wraiths (12-13) and 1 Imp (10). This should be enough to
activate your Soul Cube, perfect preparation for the final level.
- Click to exit Caverns-Area 2 and transfer to Primary Excavation Site.
- This completes the mission
