Fitting the Cylinders

Fitting the cylinders and valve chest was a very simple and quick procedure.

Basically you get one of the cylinders which arrives already assembled and carefully bend the exhaust pipe forward and slightly up to clear the buffer beam, making sure you do not stress the pipe where it joins the cylinder and bolt onto chassis using provided allen screws and star washers.
The only thing to worry about is that you fit the left cylinder to the left side and the right cylinder to the right side.

Now it's time to fit the valve chests, this is only slightly more difficult than fitting the cylinders.
Firstly you place the slide valve over the 3 holes on the top of the cylinder and then place an O ring around it. You now place a valve chest over the slide valve ensuring the O ring ends up in the groove in the bottom of the chest and the valve nut fits in the slot of the slide valve, ensuring the curved side of the nut is facing up.
You carefully attach the cover offset as shown in the photo using the brass screws provided

The top O ring is not fitted at the moment and the covers are left open as the timing of the valves still needs to be set once the valve gear is installed.
