Before I get into the next part I thought I should put up a pick naming all those funny rods and shafts
Now we are ready to fit the Radius Rod. This is the rod that opens and closes the valves.
Take the filed crank pin, fit a washer, pass it through the curved slot in the expansion link and screw into tapped hole in radius rod. Notice the radius rod at the skinney end needs to have the bend facing in so it lines up with valve spindle on the cylinder Feed the thin end of the radius Rod into the forked end of valve rod and screw up with the steel screws supplied with the cylinders. We now have the main links connected and rotating the wheeels should result in the valve cylinders moving back and forwards Next is to provide a means to raise and lower the Radius rod so we need to assemble the lifting links. |
