Portugal normally fills the minds of Europeans with visions of warm, sultry days in the olive groves and vineyards sipping fine vintage Port, but the third round of the FIA World Rally championship offered no such pleasures as over 100 cars pounded across slippery graval tracks from Figueira da Foz in the south of Povoa de Varzim in the north and back again. Once again, the Rally of Portugal provided its usual twist and surprises rally action.
