2011: March 20 Endeavour: On Top of Pad 39A for Final Flight

Interface Tests Completed Tue, 08 Mar 2011 01:01:55 AM EDT   Over the weekend, technicians completed a shuttle interface test to check the connections between space shuttle Endeavour and its external fuel tank and twin solid rocket boosters, now attached on the mobile launcher platform in the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Preparations continue for the shuttle's move, or ""rollout," to Launch Pad 39A, planned to begin at 8 p.m. EST, Wednesday, March 9. Endeavour's STS-134 and final mission to the International Space Station is targeted to launch 7:48 p.m. EDT April 19.

MoD department that investigated UFO sightings closed

The Ministry of Defence department that investigated UFOs sightings has been closed after almost 60 years, it has been disclosed.
The MoD department, which has dealt with more than 12,000 reports – including 135 last year – was used to assess threats posed by any Unidentified Flying Objects sightings throughout Britain.Any reports made would now not be investigated or followed up as the hotline had been closed,.........

LCROSS dual impact Oct 9, 09'

  LCROSS will search for water ice by sending its spent upper–stage Centaur rocket to impact the permanently shadowed polar crater. The satellite will fly into the plume of dust left by the impact and measure the properties before also colliding with the lunar surface.

Retired school teacher captures UFO 'stalking' RAF Hercules on camera

The retired school teacher was gardening when he noticed the sun glinting off the flying object as the Hercules flew in to RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire.He said: 'I don't believe in things from outer space but that thing was definitely tracking the plane. So far Mr Powell has remained in the dark since the sighting from his home in Westbury, Wiltshire, at 3.45pm on July 22.Nick Pope, who used to investigate UFOs for the MoD, said: 'It's an intriguing image. It's difficult to offer a definitive view, as the photo isn't that clear, but the fact that the witness saw something at the time – as opposed to noticing the anomaly after the image was developed – shows there was something there in the sky.'This is more than just a glitch with the camera or the film.' He added: 'Whatever you think about UFOs, the fact that something passed so close to a military aircarft is clearly of concern.
