RJH - 14/03/06 - I have found an entry of a marriage for Elizabeth in 1847, however am unable to determine who the spouse was at this stage

57. John HIGHAM

Rob Higham (Qld) found a christening date of 10 Oct 1802 at Saint Mary Magdalene, Bermondsey, London, England.

63. Nathaniel Gooden HIGHAM

Found the following info on the English FreeBMD search page. Seems too much of a coincidence that a Nathaniel Higham and a Mary Ann Norwood got married at the same District in the same month and year and were registered on the same page/volume not to be that they married each other and dates would match up with being just prior (3years or so) to the birth of William Nathaniel.

Surname First name(s) Age District Vol Page Contrib(s)
Marriages Jun 1852
Higham Nathaniel Gooden Lewisham 1d 823 djbm99
Norwood Mary Ann Lewisham 1d 823 olly
Penney Mary Ann Hudson Lewisham 1d 823 olly

Information received from David Manners confirms this is the correct person and also shows that Nathaniel was a Police Constable and was living in Stanley Rd, London in 1881 and had been married twice.
Nathaniel was a spirit dealer when his son William was married on 12 Oct 1877.
