4-6kg mainline +1oz Ball sinker and swivel 10kg nylon trace + 2/0 bronze hook ( baitholder style ) BAIT

Black Bream can be found in both the Swan and Canning rivers and also the Murray/serpentine system. They are also present in the Walpole and surrounding area inlets.

Best baits are cubed bony herring, river prawns and bloodworms. Thread the prawn onto the hook so the head ends up at the  hook point.

A running ball sinker is the preferred method and try to let the fish "walk" with the bait before striking.

Fish near structures like bridges and jetties and sunken trees etc. These rigs can also be used for silver bream (Tarwine) in the ocean.
