I have been interested in machine embroidery since I did a number of Gabriella Verstraeten’s workshops in the mid 1990s. After moving to Perth in 1995 I was inspired by Dale Rollerson’s creative workshops and since attending these I have exhibited my own work around Perth and in the Eastern Australian States, taught creative machine embroidery workshops, demonstrated at shows for The Thread Studio and written articles for textile journals. I find working with colour and pattern delightful and find the diversity of materials and techniques available beguiling. I love the process of working with an idea until it grabs you by the throat and catapults you into orbit.
