Linda
has long been interested in colour and design. She gained a Tafe Diploma in
Graphic Design in 1970, then in later life, went back to study at Curtin University,
completing a B.A.(Hons.) in Art with a Fibre Textile Major in 1999. She regularly
exhibits, sells her work and continues to learn and explore.
Dying, printing, machine embroidery, and cloque are among the techniques Linda
enjoys using.
"My ideas often come from nature, particulary the close up view. Colour
and texture are important in my work and I'm also interested in suburbia and
gardens.
I love the tactile qualities of textiles, working with silk and other natural
fabrics, but am also excited by the discovery of new materials and processes.
It's all quite addictive and I find sharing my knowlege with others very satisfying."
