VIDCAM ™ can efficiently transfer your video tapes to DVD, enabling you to preserve your unique and personal video memories for years to come. We can also print your DVD title directly onto the DVD itself (not onto a sticky label) and include a hard plastic DVD case to keep your DVD in, all in all it creates a totally professional finish to your DVD.
At VIDCAM we only use high quality Verbatim DVD recordable media, your disc will be either a DVD+ (DVD Plus) or DVD- (DVD Minus).

Unfortunately recordable media is not 100% compatible with all DVD players.

So what is the difference between DVD- and DVD+ ?

Basically, DVD- was developed by Pioneer and DVD+ was developed by eight independent companies. The formats are not compatiable b/t them selves (just like VHS and Beta). So we ask you to help us select the best format to suit your machine and then will transfer your tape to that DVD format.
Check your owners manual, it will show you what TYPE of discs it will play, or send us your Brand and Model of player and we can look it up on the web for you.
If you do experience picture pausing or break-up this may be due to incompatibility of your player and the DVD disc, so you will then have 2 choices

try the other format,
Buy a player that states it will play the DVD+ (DVD Plus) or DVD- (DVD Minus) format you have.

We can transfer any video material for you from your personal,family or related videos. We cannot copy any copyright material, eg movies, TV shows, horse races etc (Please ask for more information if not sure)

We use very high quality transfer devices and techniques to ensure the maximum quality possible for your DVD transfer. We use a Digital Timebase Corrector to process the video signal which helps in removing any screen flickering or tracking type problems. But if your tape is badly damaged it may still show signs of trouble.
Your video will be copied "as is" ie the quality of the video and audio recording on the DVD is determined by the quality of the original video supplied, we also do not do any editing at this stage, as it becomes very time consuming and the cost would be very expensive.

The following video formats can be converted to DVD+ or DVD- in PAL .

VHS * S VHS VHS C* Mini DV 8 mill* Hi-8 Digital 8 DVD+ or DVD- *=PAL or NSTC
We can also tranfer VHS/VHSc/DVD/8 mill/MiniDV (PAL) to VHS NTSC for $30.00.

Why you should put your Videos onto DVD?

If your tape has already broken, we can also repair them in most cases and then copy it onto DVD. (Tape repairs are extra , (aprox $20 per repair)
Video tapes can degrade over time and also go mouldy if not stored correctly, destroying your unique video memories.
DVDs can be viewed on many devices such as DVD players, home computers, laptops, games consoles etc.
Video tapes can get damaged while in your VCR unit, so having a backup is ideal.
DVDs are small and easy to store.
