The figures below are derived from the model on the previous page. All of the figures display either the axial component decay from the centre of the off hole response at 700m down the hole or the centre of the positive U component response at 580m down the hole. The dB/dt response illustrated in Figure 1 illustrates that the decay of the plate persists into later time as the CTP of the plate and its time constant is increased. Unfortunately, as this happens the amplitude of the response decreases and can decrease below the sensitivity of the equipment for very conductive targets. The B-field response illustrated in Firgure 2 clearly shows that the early time amplitude is similar regardless of the CTP of the plate.
